講師という立場上、少し書きづらさはあるけれど、「誰に指導を受けるか」はとても重要だと感じている。
講師次第で、得られる成果や習得内容は少なからず変わるし、指導を受ける人の性格形成や仕事の取り組み方にも影響を与える。
だからこそ、子どもの教育に関しては、自分自身が納得できる教育者を選ぶようにしている。
特に、経験やスキルだけでなく、指導法や言葉遣い、人柄、誠実さといった部分を重視している。
もちろん、すべてが完璧に合う相手を見つけるのは難しいかもしれない。
でも、自分なりの「納得できる条件」を満たしているかどうかは大切だと思っている。
親子を見ていると、子どもが親の話し方に似てくることがある。夫婦でも同じようなことが起こる。
そしてそれは、指導者と指導を受ける側の関係にも言えるのではないかと思う。
話し方やものの捉え方、考え方は、自然と影響し合うものだから…。
だから私は、指導者を選ぶときには「本質」を見るようにしている。
「本質を見る」とは、単に肩書きや実績、地位だけを見るのではなく、その人がどんな価値観を持ち、どんな姿勢で人と関わっているかを感じ取ることだと思っている。
表面的なテクニックや言葉よりも、日々の言動や立ち居振る舞いの中に、その人の在り方が表れる。
だからこそ、子どもに関わる大人や、人生の節目で関わる指導者には、安心して背中を預けられる人であってほしいと願う。
その人の存在自体が「学び」になるような、そんな出会いが人を育てていくのだと思う。
私自身、これまで多くの学びの場に身を置いてきたが、記憶に残っているのは“何を教えてくれたか”以上に、その人が“どんな在り方だったか”という部分だ。
どんな時も誠実で温かい声を掛けてくれた恩師や、サービス以上のものを提供してくれた方、言葉の選び方や立ち居振る舞い。それらが、今の自分の指導スタイルにも大きな影響を与えている。
だから私も、教える立場である以上、「見られていること」「模範になること」を忘れずに、伝える内容と共に「自分がどう在るか」を大事にしていきたい。
子どもたちや生徒、クライアント様にとって、安心して関われる人であること、信頼できる存在であること。
そのために、言葉のひとつひとつや日々の姿勢に、丁寧さと誠実さを込めていたいと思っている。
そう思うと、どんな指導者から学びたいかという問いは、自分自身がどんな人で在りたいかを映し出す鏡なのかもしれない。

As a teacher, it’s a little difficult to write this, but I feel that “who you receive instruction from” is very important.
Depending on the teacher, the results obtained and the content learned will vary to a large extent, and it will also affect the personality development of the person being taught and the way they approach their work.
That’s why when it comes to educating my children, I try to choose educators that I feel comfortable with.
In particular, I place importance not only on experience and skills, but also on teaching methods, language, personality, and sincerity.
Of course, it can be difficult to find someone who is a perfect match.
But I think it’s important to meet your own “conditions that you can be satisfied with.”
When watching parents and children, children sometimes start to talk like their parents. The same thing happens with married couples.
And I think the same can be said of the relationship between instructors and those receiving instruction.
The way we speak, the way we perceive things, and the way we think naturally influence each other…
That’s why I try to look at the “essence” when choosing a leader.
I believe that “seeing the true nature” means not just looking at a person’s title, achievements, or position, but rather getting a feel for what kind of values that person has and how they interact with others.
A person’s way of being is revealed in their daily words and actions and demeanor, rather than in superficial techniques or words.
That’s why I hope that adults who work with children and leaders who come into contact with them at turning points in their lives are people you can trust with confidence.
I think that encounters where the presence of a person is itself a “learning” are what develop people.
I myself have been in many places of learning, but what I remember most is not so much what they taught me, but how they were.
My mentors who always spoke to me with sincerity and warmth, people who provided more than just service, their choice of words and demeanor. These things have a big influence on my current teaching style.
Therefore, since I am in a position to teach, I want to remember to “be seen” and “become a role model,” and to place importance on “how I am” as well as the content I convey.
To be someone that children, students, and clients can feel comfortable interacting with, and to be a trustworthy presence.
To achieve this, I want to be polite and sincere in every word I say and in my daily attitude.
When you think about it, the question of what kind of teacher you want to learn from may be a mirror that reflects the kind of person you want to be.
“What kind of person do you want to be?”
