物心ついた頃から、母は働いており、祖父母も働いていて、かなり働き者が集まった家族だった。
だからか、早い段階から働くことには興味があり、学校よりも働く方が面白そうと社会人になるのを心待ちにしているような子供だった。
そのうち、高校でいざどう進学するかと言った時に、まだこれといった職業が決まっておらず、とりあえず考える期間としても大学に行った方がいいのかなという軽い気持ちで進学を決めた。
早いうちから興味があったからこそ、「納得いく職業に就きたい」という願望が大きくなってしまったのかもしれない。
元々旅行が好きだったので旅行関係か、なんとなくマスコミ系か…そんな分野に惹かれた。
だからどちらにもいける商学部を選び、大学在学中は将来役立つだろう英語を学びながらアルバイトに明け暮れた。
働くことに興味があったからこそ、就労支援の仕事にはとても惹かれた。
このブログでも何度もでてきているが、英会話スクールで就労支援をしている先生と出会った時に、「この仕事に就きたい」と直感的に思ったのだ。
職業に就く過程はこういったような「過去の出来事」からの影響を受ける場合が多い。
だからこそ、小さい頃にどんなことが好きで、どんなことはしたくないと思っていたか、
何に惹かれやすく、時間を忘れるくらい没頭してしまうことは何かを思い出してみるのは大変有効だと思う。
セカンドキャリアに迷っている人にもおすすめだ。

Ever since I can remember, my mother has been working, and so have my grandparents, so we were a very hard-working family.
Perhaps that’s why I was interested in work from an early age, and I was the kind of child who looked forward to becoming a member of society, thinking that working would be more interesting than school.
When it came time to decide what to do in high school, I hadn’t yet decided on a specific career, so I decided to go to university without much thought, thinking that it would be better to go to university as a time to think about it.
Perhaps it was because I was interested from an early age that my desire to “find a job that I’m satisfied with” grew stronger.
I’ve always loved traveling, so I was attracted to fields related to travel or somehow related to the media.
So I chose the Faculty of Commerce, which I could go to either, and during my time at university, I worked part-time while studying English, which I thought would be useful in the future.
It was because I was interested in work that I was very attracted to the job of employment support.
As I’ve mentioned many times in this blog, when I met a teacher who was providing employment support at an English conversation school, I intuitively felt that “this is the job I want to do.”
The process of finding a career is often influenced by such “past events.”

I think it is very effective to remember what you are easily drawn to and what you get so absorbed in that you lose track of time.
