かつて事業を通じて関わらせていただいていたお店が閉店していた。
私が前職を辞めた後にご縁をいただいたお店で、スタッフの子たちとも親しくさせてもらっていたこともあり、突然の知らせをみて、驚いたし残念で仕方なかった。
私は主に経営面のサポートやスタッフケアを担当していたが、その仕事を終えてから1年半以上が経ち、久しぶりにお店のHPを見たときには、順調に運営されている様子が伝わってきていた。そのため、すっかり安心してしまっていたのだ。
このご時世、事業を続けていくというのはそんなに簡単なことではない。
円安が進み、いろんな物価が高騰しているにも関わらず、最低賃金は上がり人件費も嵩（かさ）む。経営環境は年々厳しくなっている。かつてのバブル時代のように、お金が大胆に使われることも少なくなり、今の若い世代の消費行動も変化している。そんな中で事業をやっていくには、ただ現状を維持するだけではなく、時代の変化を敏感に読み取り、柔軟に対応していくことが不可欠なのだろう。
今回の閉店を知り、改めて「経営とは生き物のようなもの」だと実感した。
絶えず変化し続ける環境の中で、どんな努力や工夫が求められるのか。自分自身の仕事においても、常に学び、前進していかなければならないと強く感じた。

When I heard about the closure, I once again realized that “management is like a living thing.”
What kind of effort and ingenuity is required in a constantly changing environment? I strongly felt that I must always be learning and moving forward in my own work.
