どういう環境に身を置くかによって、人生は180度変わる。
家庭、仕事、学校、コミュニティーなど何でもそうだが、
身近にいる人の存在が自分に与える影響は大きい。
私がエアラインの業界入りたいと思った時、周りには誰もそういう人がいなかった。エアラインはもちろん、ホテルや観光、英語業界で働く人さえ、ほとんどいなかったのだ。
だから、大学時に英会話スクールに行ったのは良かったと感じている。そこから短期留学の発想が出たり、ゼミナールも国際関係のゼミを取った。あらゆる周りを自分の興味のあるものに固めていったのだ。
環境を自分の興味に合わせて整えることは、自分の可能性を広げる大きな一歩だ。
英会話スクールに通い、短期留学を経験し、ゼミを国際関係に選んだことで、私は自然とその道に繋がるチャンスをつかめるようになったのだと思う。そして、それは偶然ではなく、自分で作り出した環境から引き寄せたものだったのだと思う。自分を取り巻く世界が変わると、考え方や価値観、そして選択肢も自然と変わっていく。
逆に言えば、同じ環境に留まる限り、見える景色も限られてしまうのだ。エアライン業界に進むには、まったく違う分野にいる人たちと交流し、そこで得た新しい視点や知識を積み重ねる必要があった。環境を変えることは勇気がいるが、それが自分の未来を変える一歩になる。
さらに、周りを自分の興味のあるもので固める過程で気づいたのは、環境を作るだけではなく、その環境を活かす行動力も大事だということだ。スクールに通うだけでなく、積極的に英語を学んだり、関係者に話を聞きに行ったりと挑戦する気持ちを持つことで、自分の視野が広がった。
環境を変えるのは簡単ではないかもしれないが、まずは小さな一歩から始めれば良い。新しい場所や人との出会いが、想像もしていなかった未来を連れてきてくれることがある。
だから、自分がどんな環境に身を置くか、そしてその環境をどう活かしていくかを意識することが、人生を大きく変える鍵になるのだと実感している。

I think that by attending an English conversation school, experiencing a short-term study abroad, and choosing a seminar on international relations, I was able to naturally grab the opportunity to connect to that path. And I think that it was not a coincidence, but something that I attracted from the environment I created. When the world around you changes, your way of thinking, values, and choices naturally change as well.
On the other hand, if you stay in the same environment, the scenery you can see will be limited. To enter the airline industry, I had to interact with people in completely different fields and accumulate new perspectives and knowledge. Changing your environment takes courage, but it is a step to change your future.
Furthermore, in the process of surrounding yourself with things that interest you, I realized that it is not only important to create an environment, but also to have the ability to take action to make the most of that environment. By not only attending school, but also actively learning English and going to talk to people who work there, and having the will to take on challenges, my horizons have broadened.
Changing your environment may not be easy, but you can start with a small step. Meeting new places and people can bring you a future you never imagined.
Therefore, I feel that being aware of what kind of environment you are in and how to make the most of that environment is the key to making a big change in your life.
