こんにちは
2年前の今日は３男が生まれた日。
私が、３人のママになった日でした。
この２年間一瞬だったような気がしていますが、
子供の成長を振り返ると
しっかり２年という月日が流れている。
これは私がよくセルフコーチングする質問なのですが、
「その時の自分が今の自分をみたら、
なんて言うと思いますか？」
そんな問いを今日も少し考えてみました。
私は本当、スローペースな人間で、
最初からグンと急上昇していくことはあまりありません。
いつも少しずつ慣れていく方。
昔はそんな自分がすごく嫌で、すぐに何でもこなしてしまう方をみると羨ましいと感じたものです。
なので、今行っているキャリア支援やコーチ業も
9年目にして自分のものになってきた感覚があり、点と点が繋がり始めてやりたいことが掴めてきた感覚です。
スローペースでありながらも、
頂点を極めたいとか、もっと上へという思考が強い方なので、
来年はこれを、再来年はこれをという感じで
未来は今よりもっと良くなると思っていて、あまり不安を抱くことはありません。
それが有難いところでもあります。
そして、この２年を振り返ると、
２年前に計画していたことの１割は残念ながら未達で、
１割は予想に反してできていて、８割くらいは計画通りでした。
未達の部分を責める自分と、
それでも８割は計画通りなので、安堵する自分と。
これからどうしていこうか考える自分と。

「２年前の自分が今の自分をみたら、
なんて声を掛けると思いますか？」

Hello,
Two years ago today, my youngest son was born —
the day I officially became a mother of three.
These past two years feel like they’ve gone by in the blink of an eye,
yet when I reflect on my children’s growth,
I can clearly feel that a full two years have passed.
There’s a question I often use in my self-coaching:
“What would the version of myself from that time say if she could see me now?”
I took a moment to reflect on that question again today.
To be honest, I’m a slow and steady type of person.
I’m not someone who experiences sudden breakthroughs.
I’m the kind who slowly gets used to things, step by step.
It’s only recently in my ninth year that I feel the dots are finally beginning to connect in my career support and coaching work.
And yet, I do have a strong desire to reach higher,
to push myself further, one step at a time:
“This next year, I’ll do this. The year after that, I’ll work on that.”
I don’t often feel anxious about the future.
Looking back over these past two years,
10% of what I’d planned unfortunately didn’t happen,
10% turned out better than expected,
and the remaining 80% went roughly according to plan.
There’s a part of me that feels frustrated about what I didn’t accomplish,
and another part that feels reassured because 80% went as intended.
And then there’s the part that’s thinking, “So… what’s next?”

“What do you think the ‘you’ from two years ago would say if they saw you now?”
