先日、テレビで片づけの特集をやっていた。
師走となり、もう大掃除の季節。
それをみて我が家も少しずつ始めてみた。
正直、片付けは得意ではない、というより好きではない。
やらなくていいと言われたら、ほとんどやらないだろう。
でも性格的に汚いと気になってしまうので、仕方なくやっているのだ。
片づけの特集では、プロの方が、
「一つずつ片付け始める」ということを言っていた。
一遍に片付けるのではなくて、「今日はここを片付ける」という風に決めて片付けてみる。
コーチングでもベイビーステップとかスモールステップというのだが、そういう感じで少しずつ行うのである。
少しずつ行うことで、その小さな成功体験が積み重なってくるのが継続の秘訣だ。
モチベーション維持や挫折を防ぐ効果がある。
掃除でもそうなんだと改めて思った。
そして、ベットの周りから少しずつ片付け始めてみた。
片付けは嫌いと言っても、片付けた後は気持ちがスッキリする。
そして、ポジティブな活力が湧いてくるから不思議だ。
皆さんもぜひ少しずつ片付けや年末に向けての準備を始めてみると良いと思う。

The other day, there was a special on tidying up on TV.
It’s December, and it’s already the season for a major cleaning.
After watching it, I started cleaning up little by little at home.
To be honest, I’m not good at tidying up, or rather, I don’t like it.
If I was told I didn’t have to do it, I probably wouldn’t do it.
But I’m the type of person who gets bothered by messes, so I have no choice but to do it.
In the special on tidying up, a professional said,
“It’s good to start tidying up one thing at a time.”
Instead of tidying up all at once, decide, “I’m going to tidy up this place today,” and then tidy up.
In coaching, they call it baby steps or small steps, and you do it little by little like that.
By doing it little by little, those little successes pile up, and that’s the secret to continuing.
It’s effective in maintaining motivation and preventing discouragement.
I realized that it’s the same with cleaning.
So I started tidying up little by little, starting with around the bed.
Even though I say I hate tidying up, I feel refreshed after I’ve done it.
And it’s amazing how positive energy wells up inside me.
I think it would be a good idea for everyone to start tidying up little by little, or starting to prepare for the end of the year.
