先日、子供達の野球チームのグランド納めだった。
グランド納めとは、年末に行われるチームの行事の一つだ。内容はチームによって異なると思うが、最後の練習に加え、背番号の返却、親子対決、ホームラン競争などが行われる。OBなども訪れ、大きなイベントとなった。
これまでの人生、野球チームとは無縁だった私にとって、子供がチームに所属することで生活は全く違うものとなっている。野球チームだけに限らず、「子供や家族がやりたいことをサポートする」というのは、どの家庭にも共通するテーマだろう。
その環境変化に戸惑いもありつつ、楽しんでいる自分がいるのも確かだ。
子供の可能性、新しい気づき、成長、自分の視野の広がり、新しい環境への変化、繋がり、学びなど、去年とはまた違う自分がいる。
強豪チームな訳ではないので、そこもチームの差異や振れ幅はあると思うが、生活全体がそこへ引き寄せられる。
去年は野球選手なんてほんの数人しか分からなかったのに、今やかなり知識も増え、試合内容も分かるようになった。自分の仕事以外でこんなにも夢中になれるものがあるのだというのも一つの気づきで、元々好きだった飛行機グッズのコレクションに加えて、野球グッズを見たり揃えるのも好きになっている。1年前の自分には全く考えられなかったことだ。
それくらい環境や人は人を変える。たった１年で大きな変化を生む。
考えてみて欲しい。あなたはこの１年、どんな変化があっただろうか。
何を経験し、去年の自分とはどう違うだろうか。

The other day, my children’s baseball team had their last field day.
The grand finale is one of the team’s events that take place at the end of the year. I think the content varies depending on the team, but in addition to the final practice, there is the return of uniform numbers, a parent-child showdown, a home run contest, and more. Alumni also came and it was a big event.
For me, who had nothing to do with baseball teams in my life, my life has become completely different now that my child is on a team. Not only baseball teams, but I think “supporting what children and families want to do” is a common theme in every family.
I am confused by the change in environment, but I am also enjoying it.
I am a different person from last year, with my child’s potential, new realizations, growth, broadening my horizons, change to a new environment, connections, learning, and more.
It’s not a strong team, so I think there are differences and fluctuations between teams, but my whole life is drawn to it.
Last year, I only knew a few baseball players, but now I know a lot more and can understand the content of the games. It was a realization to discover that there are so many things I can be passionate about outside of my work. In addition to collecting airplane goods, which I’ve always loved, I now enjoy looking at and collecting baseball goods. This is something I would never have imagined a year ago.
That’s how much the environment and people change people. Just one year can make a big difference.
